This course examines the coverage provided by three types of property insurance policies: commercial property policies, builders risk policies, and contractors’ equipment policies.

CEC's are given for participating in the virtual class. If you wish to pursue the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation you will be given a voucher code to complete the online exam. You must pass the 5 core course exams to earn the designation. There is a reaccreditation requirement every 2 years.
Online Testing - Vouchers to access the exam will be emailed to you within 48 hours of the course (from Shannon)Those students seeking the CRIS designation must take and pass an online test after taking each class. The test is available when the student is ready, allowing additional study time after the course. There is also an online review test for each exam, comprised of approximately 25 multiple-choice questions. The review test is meant to prepare the student for the exam and is not in addition to or replacement of the final exam. Those students not seeking the designation are NOT required to test.Reaccreditation RequirementOnce you earn the right to use the CRIS certification you must engage in an ongoing continuing education process to maintain it. This involved obtaining 6hours of approved construction risk and insurance continuing education credit during the 24 months following initial receipt of the certification and every 12 months thereafter. You may obtain this CE credit by attending approved CRIS courses or conferences or completing online CRIS courses.
